Call Back System

In order to ensure that students have arrived safely to school, we operate a call back system at Wolseley school. If your child is to be absent from school, please either inform your child’s teacher in advance or phone the office before 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on the day of the absence. You may leave a message on the school’s answering machine. If a child is absent, and no communication is received from home, the office staff will attempt to phone the parent’s/guardian’s home, work number, or emergency contact number you have provided. All students arriving late (after 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.) must report to the office before going to their classroom.

School Newsletter/Calendar

The monthly school newsletter is another way for the school and Parent Council to keep the community informed about the on-going and up-coming events that take place at the school. A monthly calendar provides notice of when the school will be closed, as well as, information to students about after school gym and inter-mural activities, and other special school events.

Please post the calendars in a conspicuous place at home for quick reference.

Newsletters and notices are generally sent home with one child in the family only. We ask that you regularly ask your children if there is anything in their backpacks that you need to see and inform the office if you are not receiving them.

Parking / Student Drop-off / Student Pick-up

For the safety of the students and for convenience of the school staff, please avoid using the staff parking lot. There is one hour parking on Clifton Street, Camden Street and all day parking on Wolseley Ave.

Please use Clifton St. for dropping off and picking up your children and please adhere to the NO STOPPING zone near the crosswalk on Clifton St. The patrols are trying their best to cross the children, and are prevented from doing so safely because of the illegal stopping and parking of cars near the crosswalk.

Telephone Use and Messages

We ask that parents/guardians make arrangements for after school child care, pick up, after school activities, etc, with their children before school starts and not during the school day, unless, of course, there is an emergency situation. Student will not be allowed to use the telephone to make after school play arrangements.

Student Supplies

All Grade 1-6 classroom teachers purchase the school supplies their students will need for the year. The fee for these supplies are $50.00 per student for each school year. Payable in June or on the first day of school.

Lost and Found

Please label your children’s belongings and regularly check for missing items in the lost and found collection. All items not claimed at the end of the school year will be donated to a local charity.

Child Care

A list of licensed and non-licensed child care providers in our community is available in the school office.
