The total cost of the Renovation/Addition Building Project was approximately $2,900,000.

What was included:

8400 square foot addition including:

q       Gymnasium 3400 sq. ft. for joint school and community use

q       Life skills/special needs facility 1200 sq. ft.

q       Multi-purpose room 1000 sq. ft.

q       Kitchen 200 sq. ft. with canteen style window and shutter

q       Ancillary space 2800 sq. ft. to include new custodial room and new accessible washroom

Renovations and upgrading of the existing facility included:

q       Structural, mechanical and electrical upgrading such as west wall replacement, foundation and floor structure repair, roof replacement, sprinkler fire protection system, and ventilation system upgrade

q       Renovated existing gym to library

q       Renovated existing library to computer lab

q       Renovated existing classroom to science/art room

q       Renovated existing classroom to resource teaching area with smaller meeting rooms

q       Replaced existing windows and outside doors to retain the heritage look

q       New public entrance off the Clifton St. back lane with bus loop for the special needs students

What didn't change:

q       The warmth of our hardwood floors

q       The wide hallways that are used as extensions of the classroom

q       The natural lighting through our large windows

q       The French door at the entrance of each classroom

q       The Heritage look to the brick exterior

q       The school situated at the top of the hill overlooking the playing field and the new play structure

q       The hill as a community meeting place and winter sled run

q       The new community play structure
