Principal’s Message

Welcome to Wellington school. Wellington school is located in the Inner City District of the Winnipeg School Division. We house approximately 460 students from Nursery through grade six. Our Population is very diverse in its cultural make up and in students’ need.

At Wellington school we endeavour to create a safe and stimulating learning environment in which every child is challenged to learn and develop to their individual potential. Our theme for this year is “I am a learner”. All individuals in our school are learners.

Staff is also encouraged to embrace new learning opportunities. Through our website I hope that you will capture some snap shots of the exciting integrated projects, activities and events our students and staff are creating. We encourage our students to set goals. The following quote by Barbara Cage captures what we work towards at Wellington School. Many dreams begin in our school and many dreams are fulfilled in our school.

The Path to a Dream

The path to a dream is paved with sacrifices and lined with determination.
And though it has many stumbling blocks along the way and may go in more
than one direction, it is marked with faith.
It is traveled by belief and courage, persistence and hard work.
It is conquered with a willingness to face challenges and take chances, to
fail and try again and again.
Along the way, you may have to confront doubts, setbacks, and unfairness.
But when the path comes to an end, you will find that there is no greater
joy than making your dream come true.
