Wellington School is beginning a new after school program called the Wellington Lighthouse program. It will be offered from 3:45 – 5:15 at the school and will provide students with enriching activities and opportunities to learn and grow.

The arts, photography and many other areas will be explored with the students.   We will also plan a few Saturday fieldtrips to provide new experiences for our students.

Activities will include:

-          Art enrichment activities through a variety of medium, ranging from paint, sculpture, photography, reclaimed material turning into artistic masterpieces, visual arts, fine arts. Cultural workshops, sports, cooking, music and movement will all be incorporated to provide interactive experiences for the participants.

With the support of staff and volunteers students will be given opportunities to:

-          promote academic, social and emotional growth

-           develop a strong sense of purpose and direction in every student

-           promote creativity, problem solving and teamwork.

-          experience self-expression and self-discovery

-          create a means to explore cultural, ethical and social issues.

Fieldtrips and guest artists/instructors will be used to provide new and enriching experiences for the participants.
