Right Triangle Ratios (Sin x, Cos x, Tan x)

The common 'next step' in any study of trigonometry is to examine the Right-Angled Triangle trigonometric ratios. Each of these trig ratios deal with the interaction between two different sides of a right-angled triangle and an included angle that is NOT the right angle.

Before you can understand the ratios, however, you must be able to assign a name (opposite, adjacent, and hypotenuse) to each of the sides of a right-angled triangle. Click on the first link below for help with naming sides, and the following links for help with each of the trigonometric ratios.
