SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
Victoria-Albert School
strives to provide a positive educational experience for all children
attending our school - community involvement in the life of our school is
encouraged. The expectations for all students is that they come to school
to learn and develope their skills to the best of their abilities. They
are to arrive at school prepared for each day and demonstrate excellent
work habits. Our staff, in turn, is committed to provide instruction of
the highest quality and to provide programming that focuses on individual
development and growth. Emphasis is placed on the student's ability to
accept responsibility for his/her actions and to maintain a standard of
self-discipline while recognizing the rights of others. respect for
children and adults is expected at all times.
Parent support
is essential, as it is through the dual commitment of parents and
teachers that the children will benefit most from the education they
receive.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
1. To provide opportunities for academic achievement
through a variety of programs which meet the needs of an individual child.
2. To build decision making skills so that students
take responsibility for their education and became life long learners.
3. To provide a safe, caring learning environment
that promotes cooperation and the acceptance of all individuals.
4. To work as a team drawing on the strengths of all
staff members so that all children are helped to achieve their highest potential.
5. To communicate effectively with the home and
community in order to develop a mutual understanding of each other's expectations of, and
role in children's education.
CODE OF CONDUCT
School Code of Conduct
is based on the principle that the appropriate behaviour is is expected
from students at all times.
Pride in school and
educational life becomes the responsibility of everyone. Positive
consequences (a healthy learning environment, praise, etc.) for
appropriate behaviour will be applied consistently.
