Schedule: Tuesday,
Wednesday & Thursday
January 22, 23 & 24
(Days 3, 4 & 5)
Pirate captains, wishing to check the answers to Activity #1, will be e-mailed the
address of a web page of the solution. This activity is similar to the previous one except
each of the registered classes will get their own specific island map which they will work
with (in a confidential manner) for the remainder of the T.H.I.N.K. project. Each island
pirate captain will be provided a unique Username (such as "thinknw",
"thinkne", "thinksw" or "thinkse" without quotes) and a
confidential Password which will only permit one to see his/her own island map. These
Usernames and Passwords will only be e-mailed to pirate captains just prior to the time
that Activity #2 is scheduled (see above) in order to ensure that all team members are
working at the same pace.
Note that each island neighbourhood is colour-coded (blue, green, red or yellow) for
you convenience and your resulting island map should have the same color in its title as
in the quadrant shown. Once you access your island/map you may either print the actual
activity from your Netscape or Internet Explorer browser (as a pencil and paper activity)
or download the map file for sharing with the class as a Paint/Paintbrush activity. Once
you complete this activity challenge by mapping out your island, your teacher may wish to
check to make certain that all tokens or icons are located correctly. Once the class is in
agreement as to how their island map should be designed, make certain that one saves a
copy of the resulting island map. All remaining activities in this T.H.I.N.K. project and,
in particular, the treasure hunt collaboration will be based upon the correct layout of
each island map.
Pirate captains (teachers), who have had their Username and Password e-mailed to them,
may proceed to their actual island map activity by clicking on the appropriate link below:
