Can you and your electronic team-mates find the buried treasure?
Avast me hardies!! Do you think that you can find the buried treasure
that has been hidden for more than 300 years? If you can navigate using the eight basic
compass points (north, west, east , south, north-west, north-east, south-west, and
south-east), read maps correctly, problem solve and most importantly collaborate with
other students then you have a very good chance of finding the treasure.
A vast quantity of gold and jewels were buried on one of four nearby islands. A
treasure map was drawn up with information as to where the the buried treasure was located
and then four members of the crew were each given their own quarter of the map for safe
keeping.
After 300 years, the four islands still exist but now each island is a quarter of a
large modern city that is linked to its adjacent neighbours by a single bridge.
Before beginning it is important that you check out the large city map and determine
which neighbourhood or quadrant you will be working within. In addition, it is important
to note the e-mail addresses of the neighbourhood pirate captains (teachers) and crews
(classes) who will eventually work with you to solve where the treasure is hidden.
