Here are two sites to help you understand the ins and outs of latitude and longitude. The first one was prepared by the scientists at NASA and the second is a pretty cool flash presentation with a 3D transparent earth. Read, Watch and Learn. The third one is an interactive game where you have to "Find Hannah!" She is very encouraging.
