On October 4, our cross country team went out to Assiniboine Park. They came there to run, earn a title, and have fun. They may have come in different places at the finish line, but in the end they were still happy.
The boys went first. The grade 7's and 8’s ran their hearts out. Johnny was the first of the Stanley Knowles grade 7's to finish. Miguel was the first Stanley Knowles grade 8. When they finish they waited for their friends. Some of them rested while others played. They even stopped to take pictures. They posed for so many. They’re fun to be with.

While the boys race was still being run, the girls started. Annie arrives first among all the Stanley Knowles grade 7 runners. Taylor was the first of our grade 8 students. Taylor ran while listening to music, which helps her run faster. All of the girls were tired but they finished with smiles on their faces.
.
Mme. Hass has tremendous hope for the runners. “Well, we’re missing our top runners today, but that’ll give the other students a chance to win. Also a chance to do their best,” Mme. Hass said.
Annie commented about the race while she rested. She said “I think I did well, because I came in as the 1st Stanley Knowles student. I’m not quite sure what I want to accomplish by entering this race. I think I came in 30th place. I’ve been training since the first practice. My thought about the whole race is that everyone did great.”
Rachael said “I think I’ll do good in this race because I’ve been doing pretty good. I want to accomplish being one of the top five. For this race I think I’ll come in probably lower than that. I’ve been training since school started. This race is long, but there’s no hills, not like before.
Everyone did an excellent job. The races went nicely. It was a great day. Our runners may have been tired by the race, but on the bus they were still energetic.
Now that’s sportmanship. It’s great watching them run.
