Stanley Knowles Running Strong at
Cross-Country Meet

On Wednesday Septehe mber 19, everybody must’ve been wondering: “Where have all my friends gone after school today?” Well the answer is in this article.

On Wednesday afternoon a lot of SKS students were leaving a bit early from school, in order to go to the Cross Country track meet at Grant Park. There were many junior high students there from Sargent Park, River Heights, and Churchill. The run was a crazy 2.3 km long. Rachel and Jared, two Stanley Knowles athletes, stated that they have been training since September 6th.

I also asked one of the teachers, Mme. Hass, if she had any final thoughts for the race. She answered, “Such long distance runners should not be afraid of what place they come in, they should just be happy that they actually ran that far.”

On Wednesday there were four runs: The 1st run was the Jr.Girls (Grade 7and 8 girls), then the Sr.Girls (Grade 9 girls), followed by the Sr. Boys (Grade 9 boys), and last but not least the Jr. Boys (Grade 7 and 8 boys). In the Jr.Girls run, Lumen, placed 7th out of some 150 students, and Ann placed 16th in the same run. In the Jr.Boys run, Tyree finished a strong 5th.

The runs were great but, unfortunately, at the end of the day everyone had to go home.

Unfortunately, this tower fell down 10 seconds after it was built. Thankfully no one was hurt.
