Mapping
Objective:
Students will check e-mail daily.
Students will use an atlas to find locations around the world.
Students will pinpoint participating schools on a world map.
Time frame:
Duration of the unit
Procedure:
Each week different students will be responsible for checking e- mail for returned surveys
and responses. As the surveys come in, students will compile the
information.
One interesting piece of information will be where the responding schools are
located. The students will be responsible for finding these locations on a world
atlas and then plotting their locations on a world map (See Participating Schools).
This could become quite a challenge as schools from smaller locales begin to
respond.
Evaluation:
Were the students able to retrieve the responses from the internet? Could they find
the locations in a world atlas? Were they able to accurately plot these sites on a
world map?
