A
Biography of Our Principal
Objective:
Students will generate questions for an interview and then compile the answers into a
written biography.
Time frame:
4 - 40 minute classes
Procedure:
A group of students worked in a group with the resource teacher. They began by
asking the principal for some pictures from his younger years to aid them in generating
some questions for the interview.
They looked at the photographs, talked about his job, and brainstormed for
questions. An interview time was scheduled and they spent time with him asking
questions and recording his responses on tape.
They then organized their questions into paragraphs, edited them, and wrote the biography
on the computer.
Evaluation
Were they able to generate questions that would elicite informative
responses? Were they able to organize the responses into paragraphs? Is the
biography complete and is it well written?
