PABLO PICASSO
Pablo Picasso was born in Malaga,
Spain on October 25, 1881. His father was an art teacher and an artist.
Picasso had three special gifts, a heart that loved everything, eyes that saw everything,
and "Hands that could create great works of art".
Picasso was an artist who painted and sculpted. In his blue period he used a lot of
the colour blue in his paintings. In his rose period he used a lot of the colour
pink.
He painted in the style called cubism. He was the founder of Cubism. It
was his idea. Cubism tries to show how much space something takes up.
The shapes are hard and square. In his classical period from 1921 to 1927 he
used rich, war colours and soft, round shapes.
He lived in France from 1904 until he died. He died in 1973.
