SMN Picasso Project: Language Arts

A number of writing activities were offered to students to enhance the language arts program. This included creative writing, story starters, poetry, and interviews. Students chose activities that were of interest to them.

What if the Principal Got Lost in Canada?

One day there were six kids going to school. They went to their classroom to sing O Canada. When O Canada was finished there were no announcements. Their teacher said to the students to go down to the principal's office to check if the principal was there. The six students went down to the office to ask the secretary if Mr. Scott was there. He wasn't in his office. The students told the secretary to call the police to find the principal. The chief called his policemen to find the school principal. The policemen started looking for the Mr. Scott. None of the policemen could find him. Then the policemen went to Mr. Scott's house to check if he was there. No one was home. The police went back to school to tell the students and the teachers that they could not find him....What do you think happened?

If I Was A Principal For A Day

I would do lots of paper work. I can make more good rules. I will take good care of the school. I would have lots of meetings. I'll make sure on the announcements I'd say important stuff to people. Sometimes I'll do something fun for classrooms. I'll be nice to people not boss them around. I'll make good decisions. I won't allow toys and junk. I'll make sure that they wear appropriate clothes. I'd make sure kids are nice to each other. I will make sure kids have enough supplies. The kids will try to work hard.
