Winnipeg Centennial Public Library - 251 Donald Street
Info - 986 6450 Online catalogue - 986 6722

This library was built in 1977. The architect, John Robert Davenall Turner made this building with no straight lines or square corners inside. He wanted people to feel they were in an open space. There are free standing elevators and a two storey high window on the main floor. Outside there are fountains, two reflecting pools and a park with trees and grass. In the winter there is a skating rink. There are skywalks joining the library to the Post Office and Eaton's Place. Over 18,000 people visit the library each week. On Sundays, there are over 500 people each hour.
