THE CENTENNIAL CONCERT HALL

The building of the concert hall was started in 1965 and finally finished in December, 1967. It cost $8 million to build. It was built to celebrate Canada's 100th birthday. Inside the front door is a big mural. It was made by Greta Dale. The wall hangings in the lobby on the left were made by Takao Tanabe who is from Vancouver. They are made of Thai silk. The ones on the right were made by Dr. Kenneth Lockhead of Winnipeg. There are big chandeliers in the lobby. They are made of Norwegian crystal and cost $10,000 each.
