When this building opened in January, 1975 it was called the finest centre in Canada. It cost $25 million to build. In 1994 it had a $5 million facelift. The main floor is 30,000 square feet with 18 dividable rooms. The second floor is 55,000 square feet with stores, restaurants and a theatre. The exhibition floor is 78,000 square feet with no pillars. This building has two levels of parking for 680 cars. There is a skywalk to the Royal Crowne Holiday Inn. When conventions and meetings use the building they can use telephones, microphones, light and sound equipment. There is also simultaneous multilingual translation equipment for those who don't speak English.
