This is the planning committee for the City of Kids Happyland. In the Box City exercise at Sister MacNamara School, planning committees were made up of both adult volunteers and kids. Every building had to get approved by the planning committee. Many times buildings were not approved until extra fire exits, wheelchair ramps, and windows were installed. |

Once the planning committee approve a building you are issued an "occupancy permit" you can then place your building in the right land-use zone. This student is placing her apartment in the Residential Zone. |

This half-built city is one of three cities that took up the whole gym. In Dallas, Texas, 1500 youths created a massive box city in a shopping center! The three cities in this gym only had 65 kids. |
