In the beginning of chapter 9 Annemarie heard her mother and Ellen washing
the dishes. She knew Kirsti was playing with paper dolls. Annemarie went in the
barn and saw her Uncle Henrik milking Blossom. Annemarie talked to her Uncle
Henrik and said, “You’re lying to me.”
Annemarie remembered lots of things about her moms’ stories and said that
there was never a Great-aunt Birte. Uncle Henrik talked to Annemarie and asked
her stuff.
In the middle of chapter 9 Uncle Henrik asked a question to Annemarie who
did not want to answer it but she did. Annemarie’s
Uncle Henrik said stuff about her family and Great-aunt Birte. Uncle Henrik said
that Annemarie’s mom did that so she can be brave for Annemarie. After all the
talking Uncle Henrik and Annemarie went inside the house. They went in the
living room. Ellen said that she felt sorry for Annemarie because her Great-aunt
Birte passed away but Annemarie knew that it was all fake. Annmarie didn’t say
anything. People entered the house and went in the living room. Annemarie’s
mom was talking and other people entered.
In the end an old man bent down and closed his eyes. Annemarie was
standing in the doorway. She was remembering when Lise past away. Annemarie
recognized that the people didn’t bring food and they didn’t talk about
anything. Uncle Henrik went outside to his boat. Uncle Henrik said that Ellen
had to go with him so Ellen went with him. Peter hugged Annemarie and
Annemarie’s mom.
