In the beginning of chapter 14 Annemarie runs through the woods trying to save Ellen her friend.  When she was running through the woods she remembered about telling Kirsti about Little Red Riding Hood.  She remembered in the story that the mother was telling Little Red Riding Hood to go and bring some food to grandma’s house.  Then she thinks that the story is like her running through the forest. She stopped at a fork in the road and she took a right because there were more soldiers on the road.

In the middle of chapter 14 Annemarie was running through a meadow and she remembered it full of cows and in full bloom.  Now it was damp, wet, and foggy.  Then she came to the woods path again.  She kept thinking about the story in her head.  She then took another turn.  

At the end of chapter 14 Annemarie remembered the part about the wolf.  She remembered how she would build up suspense when she told Kirsti this part of the story.  Then suddenly she heard a low growl from a bush.  She was very frightened.  Then four soldiers and two trained dogs walked out of the bush…
