By Daniella In the beginning of chapter 8 it starts
off like this: in the morning Annemarie heard her Uncle Henrik leaving the
house. He was walking to the barn to milk the cow Blossom. After
Annemarie
woke up again she went to the window in her bedroom. Then she saw a bird in an
apple tree and she could hear it sing. Her sister Kirsti was in the kitchen
talking to mama. Her best friend
Ellen was sleeping. When Annemarie got downstairs she saw her sister trying to
make their cat drink out of the bowl of water. Annemarie said that cats don’t
drink water they drink milk.
In the middle
of chapter 8 the soldiers are taking all the butter from everyone. They are
taking it from farmers too. Then they are eating it all up. Annemaire took Ellen
to a favorite place of hers. It was beyond the barn. After, Annemaire introduced
Ellen to Blossom their
cow. In the end of the chapter Mama was scrubbing and she was dusting because Uncle Henrik always keep his house messy. Uncle Henrik said, “Tomorrow will be a good day for fishing.“ Annemaire’s Great Aunt Birte had died. Before they put her in the grave they kept her in her casket in their living room.
