Task

You are a brand new cub reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press. You are very excited to have received your first job and very FIRST assignment as a newspaper reporter.

Your boss, Mrs. Peggy Oinkton has assigned you the task of gathering all of the information you can about Chinese inventions.

She asks:

  1. What inventions are the Chinese known for?
  2. What inventions are of Chinese origin but are less well-known?

Your assignment is to:

bulletWrite a feature article in the Life section giving details about products that the Chinese have invented.

Specific information that Mrs. Oinkton wanted:

  1. A list of five Chinese inventions; what they are, all pertinent details about time, place and the history of how these great inventions came to be.
  2. At least one invention that was believed to be invented by someone other than the Chinese but which the Chinese are the true inventors. (Spaghetti is one such invention, but you can't use that!!)

How you will complete this brand new undertaking-

You will fly to China. You will travel to at least five different destinations to hunt down the answers to these questions for your new boss.

Process

There are at least five cities that you will visit on your travels. Once you discover which city you will be visiting, click on each city and you will visit a website upon which you will answer questions that will aid you in completing your assignment for Mrs. Oinkton. By the end of your travels, you will have enough information to write your article on Chinese inventions- famous and unfamous.

To make it easier for you, Mrs. Oinkton has started off your article as follows,

"China has many inventions which they are proud of. Did you know that they invented the ____________? In this article you will discover five inventions that you may or may not have known that the Chinese are responsible for."

Good Luck!

May the force be with you!

Have FUN on your travels!

I will appear frequently to give you encouragment.
