Stock Market Investing Project

Part 1 - Choose your stocks for investing from the feature in the Winnipeg Free Press.

bulletStudy the 2001 "Stock Market Challenge". There are 8 investment categories. 
bulletUse the stock symbol to study the information about the stock
bulletSelect a minimum of 8 stocks to 'buy', one from each of the 8 investment categories. 
bullet You may 'buy' more than one stock from each investment category.

Part 2 - Stock Investment - general instructions

  1. Make an imaginary investment in six stocks, totaling $100,000.
  2. Select one stock from each of the 8 investment grouping. This means that you make a minimum of eight stock investments.
  3. Then, think about how much money you want to invest in each stock.
  4. The maximum investment in any one stock is $30,000.
  5. The minimum investment in any one stock is $1,000.
  6. All stock investments must be made in $1,000 increments.
  7. Your stock investments must total $100,000 exactly.

Part 3 - 'Online' to invest and follow stock market performance

bulletRemember that you will make imaginary investments, you do not make real investments on any web site.
bulletEnter your stock symbol accurately
bulletFind your initial stock purchase price and shares your money acquired for each stock.
bulletTrack and record the daily performance and value of the stocks.
