This recipe is from the English Forever School in Brazil.

Black beans at Mineiro Style ( style from Minas Gerais State) or Mulato
beans at Baiana Style ( style from Bahia State), it doesnt matter! We
have a lot of FEIJOADA in Brazil.

Considered a typical Brazilian dish, is very appreciated in other
countries, our FEIJOADA was brought to here by the slaves hunger in
the Colonial Period.

The slaves used to be submitted to daily unbearable efforts and they
used to feed themselves with the leftovers from the BIG HOUSE, where
their owners lived. The pork meat parts that weren't used in the BIG HOUSE the tail, ears, feet and the chops were what the slaves had to eat. These ingredients, to which we add different kinds of sausage and dry meat is what we call FEIJOADA.

A VERY RICH MEAL

The slaves used to mix the pork meat with the beans while cooking, getting this way, a very nutritive meal to reassure their strength.

FEIJOADA is often served with FAROFA, couve and orange slices.
Ingredients

Beans/Sausage/Bacon/Onions/Salt/ Breadcrumb

How to prepare

First you have to cook the beans very well until they're soft. After you fry the onions, sausage and bacon.
