1. Do you have many places for recreation?
Yes, we have recreation centres for swimming, arcades, sports (like basketball, badminton, floor hockey), arenas for hockey, skating, curling, and ringette. We have water slides, a veledrome, lacrosse, paintball, lazer tag, Playzone, bowling.

2. Do you live in a city or rural community?
We don't live in the city or in the country. We live in a suburb of Victoria. We do not have many tall buildings near us. We have some fields, parks, a few farms, and shopping centres.

3. Do you like living in a Victoria community? Why?
Most of us like living here. We like the weather, we feel safe, there is a lot to do, people are friendly and we have a good school. Some of like the fact that we have some good pet stores.

4. What kind of building do you live in?
Most of us live in single family houses. A few live in duplexes or townhouses.

5. What games do you play in your community?
Most of us play some kind of sport. We play soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, figure skating, and lacrosse. We like to play street hockey. Riding bikes is fun and we like games at the park.
Some of us play video games or games on the internet. Some of us can play chess. We go bowling

6. How do you keep your community safe?
We lock our doors, we do not talk to strangers, we donąt leave a mess for someone to trip over, we rake up leaves. We have a neighbourhood watch program. We know about 911. We care for each other. We walk home with a friend. We do not ride our bikes too fast. We donąt ride on the school grounds.

7. How do you have fun in your community?
We play with our friends, go to movies, play in the park, play games outside. We have friends over to our house. We play sports, go swimming or go skating. We like to ride our bikes.

8. How long does it take you to get to the nearest hospital?
It takes about five minutes.

9. What are some safety rules at your school?
Donąt run in the hall. Be quiet during fire drills. Shuffle your feet and cover your head during earthquake drills. Donąt leave things for others to trip over. Never hit other people.

10. What types of transportation do you have in your community?
Car, taxi, bus, ferry, train, airplane, by foot, by bike Some kids have skateboards.

11. Where do you get your food?
We have many grocery stores near us. Some are very large.

12. How do you maintain your roads?
The municipality has workers who keep the roads in good condition.

13. What weather do you have in your community?
The weather is good a lot of the time. We get too much rain sometimes. We only have about three or four days with any snow. We would all like more days with snow. Our parents do not agree about this.

14. What do you carry your school supplies in?
Most of us have back packs.

15. How do you get to school everyday?
Many of us walk. Some are driven in a car.

16. What kind of school do you go to?
We have a school with 380 students. they are from grade k to 7. We have French Immersion and English students. About 120 students are in French.

17. Were do you get your clothes in your community?
We have some big stores like Sears and the Bay. we also have many shopping malls. We can also go down town if we have to.

18. What kind of organized sports do you belong to?
Soccer, hockey, lacrosse, swimming, baseball, are the main ones.

19. Do you have 911?
Yes, we do have the 911 system.

20. Where do you get your water from in your community?
Our water comes from a large reservoir many miles away. It is called the Sooke Reservoir and the water comes from a dam that makes Sooke Lake much bigger. The reservoir gets water from another lake too. the water comes from that lake to Sooke Lake through a big tunnel they drilled through a mountain.

21. How do you get to the hospital if you are having a baby?
Drive in a car or take a taxi

22. What do you learn at school?
Reading, writing, arithmetic, science, social studies, gym, art, music, personal development

23. How do you fight fires in your community?
We are between two fire halls.

24. What games do you play in your community?
tetherball, street hockey, video games, computer games, chess, tag, toys

25. How far is the fire station from your house?
We have a big main firehall about one kilometre away and a small one about two kilometres from us.

26. What kind of clothes do you wear throughout the year?
shirts, t-shirts, pants, sweats, sweatshirts, blue jeans, dresses, coats, jackets

27. How do you get to the hospital in your community?
We would drive in a car, ride in an ambulance, take the bus

28. How often do you get your teeth taken care in your community?
Most of us visit our dentist about once a year. A few of us wait longer.
