Program Info

Rockwood School offers excellence in education with secure, intimate child centered learning. Instruction is designed so as to be meaningful and connected. Programming is challenging, interactive, and social, and promotes self-reliance and independence. At Rockwood you will find a strong committed staff who truly form an educational partnership with students and their families

Rockwood School has classes from Nursery to Grade 6 in an intimate small school setting. It has a stable population of approximately 230 students. It offers a full range of elementary programming, and also has an elementary alternative program. There is an up to date computer lab with twenty-two work stations as well as networked computers in each classroom. Rockwood has a fully automated library linked to the computer lab. There is a YM-YWCA operated child care centre within the school that provides before and after school care as well as half day care for nursery and kindergarten students. There is also a YM-YWCA run lunch program. The school has an active parent council that is very supportive to the school.
