This year Room 17 studied our community, Crescentwood. We went on community walks and learned a lot about our neighbourhood. We learned about house numbers. On one side of the street the numbers are odd and on the other side they are even. If you know the house number you are looking for you'll know which side of the street the house is located. One beautiful day we walked to Fleet Park. We brought crayons, paper and clipboards. We each adopted a tree of our own and sketched it. After sketching we played Kick the Can and we played on the structure. While we studied the community we made a mural of the community and we had a lot of field trips. We went to Denny's Meat Market, the Children's Museum, The Pan Am Pool, Safeway, and Canada Trust. Studying the community was interesting and fun! We hope you enjoy our book.
