Music

At École Riverview School, the "Orff" approach to teaching music is utilized. It is based on the teachings of the German music educator Carl Orff. The emphasis of this approach to teaching music is on the involvement of the whole person. Music is taught through active participation in movement, rhythm, singing, form analysis, orchestration, drama, canon and speech.

All children at École Riverview School receive two music classes per six day cycle and also participate in Primary Choir (grades 1-2), Intermediate Choir (grades 3-4) or Senior Choir (grades 4-6).  Students in grades 4-6 also  have the opportunity to sing in our extra-curricular choir (K.C. Junction). Music is definitely in the air at Riverview!
