WHO? |
Classroom teachers, their students and the resource team. |
|---|---|
| WHAT? | Resource Based Learning is the design and implementation of curriculum-related units of study, accomplished through the shared expertise and partnership of the classroom teacher and the Resource Team, coordinated by the Teacher Librarian. |
| WHEN? | Meetings and teachings are scheduled according to needs. Library periods are usually used as a starting point for the students. Additional time may be scheduled as needed during the available RBL time on the library timetable. |
| WHERE? | The sessions may be held in the classroom, the Library Resource Centre or the Computer Room. |
| WHY? | In order for the proliferation of information to be more pertinent to students they must make the connections and see relationships between what they read, what they see or hear and what they know. The students need to learn a comprehensive research process that can be applied to the curriculum. |
| HOW? | The Teacher Librarian (also a member of the Resource Team) coordinates various activities using print, non-print, technological and human resources. The Classroom Teacher and the Resource Team combine content and information skills in a meaningful context to meet the objectives laid out by the cooperative team. |
