~ A very important message to parents about student placement ~

Student placements are decided each Spring for the coming school year. classroom teachers, in consultation with the classroom teachers at the next grade level, and resource teachers, make student placement decisions.
Factors considered are: the needs of individual students the instructional, social and personal advantages of grouping students the combinations most likely to produce a productive learning environment the grouping of students requiring special resources the balance of males and females the balance of academic abilities the balance of total class sizes
Occasionally, parents wish to express a request for a specific class placement. Given the many factors we have to consider in placing students and the fact that placement decisions impact not only on the individual but on the dynamics of the class, we do not, under normal circumstances make changes to our considered plans. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in trusting our professional judgment in placing your child.
