Authors' Visits

Mr. Sheldon Oberman visited with the staff and students from River Elm School (Thursday & Friday January 13th & 14th, 2000). From telling us about his Always Prayer Shawl, his experiences with raccoons in Toronto while working on The White Stone in the Castle Wall and his cultural experiences in Baker Lake while working on The Shaman's Nephew, Mr. Oberman's energy and great story telling talents had us all on the edge of our seat! The two days of talks, readings and workshops have left us all with many pleasant souvenirs and a wide array of inspirations!

Ms. Nikki Tate visited River Elm School on Thursday, September 30th, 1999. On this occasion, Ms. Tate met with a large group of students from rooms 201, 202, 203, 204, and 205 (grades 3/4 to 6).
