Intermediate Christmas Concert

On December 15th, the intermediate students presented their Christmas Concert. The Christmas Concert was on Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. The intermediate students did a number of dances, songs accompanied by instruments and poems. The narrators were Alexandra Kozelko and Ardelle Villamor. Everyone who participated in the Christmas concert did a wonderful job dancing and singing. The concert began with an introduction from Mrs. Adams. Then the English choir sang 2 songs, Cover the World With Love and Christmas Carol Medley. Then Mrs. Hnatiw’s grade 4/5 class, sang Winter and did a poem called Christmas Tree. Mrs.Moen’s grade 4/5 class, sang All Night All Day (a song accompanied by recorders) and song called Young Folks, Old Folks. Mrs. Duffy’s grade 6 class, performed Jingle Bells and danced to Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays. Mr. Chubey’s Grade 5/6 class, sang In Bethlehem. Mr. Charney’s grade5/6 class, danced to Christmas "Rapping" and exercises. Mrs. Diakiw’s grade 3/4 class, sang Christmas is a Rainbow and The Twelve Days of Christmas. Mrs. Harkava/Mrs. Kozelko’s grade 7/8 class sang Shchedryk a song accompanied by instruments. Then the Ukrainian choir lead by Mrs. Harkava, performed and sang a New Year’s Carol, The Bells are Ringing, a New Years Carol accompanied by grade 7/8 students, Silent Night and a Christmas Carol accompanied by grade 7/8 students.

Primary  Concert

At 7 :00 o’clock the primary concert began. First Mrs. Adams did the introduction and greeted our guests. Next Mrs. Burkett and her Nursery class sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. After the nursery, the Ukrainian Kindergarten sang “Christmas Tree” and then recited the poem Christmas Star. After the poem, the Primary Choir sang “Cover the World With Love” and “Song of Christmas Time”. Next the Kindergarten  sang “Jingle Bells”. Next the grade 1 class danced to “Jingle Bell Rock” and sang  “Christmas Time is Near.” After them the other grade 1 class sang “Falling Snow” and “Snowman.” After that the grade 1/2 sang “Mary Had a Baby” and “We Share a Rainbow.” After them the grade 2 sang “Christmas Tree” and  “The Snow is Falling.” Next the Cree Singers performed. Then the grades 2/3 sang “Who’s Important at Christmas” and “Black and White.” After that the grade 3 recited the poem “In the Dark Night” and sang  “The Wind in the River”. Next the Ukrainian Choir sang “Seeysia Rodysia” and “In Bethlehem.”

Christmas Cheerboard

On December 6th Room 111 went to help the Christmas Cheerboard. They went there to help pack foods for families for the Christmas Holidays. Room 111 had to pack all sorts of foods into a lot of boxes. They stayed there for the whole morning. At the end the people at the Christmas Cheerboard really appreciated their help and Room 111 received watches as a show of thanks.

Choir at Sears

On Friday the 10th of December, the English Intermediate choir went to Sears in Garden City Shopping Center. The choir went to Sears to sing some Christmas carols like "Joy To The World, Rudolph, and a lot more songs. Each child got a small radio for singing. The second time the choir went to Sears they received a yoyo.

St.Nicholas

On Thursday December 16 St.Nicholas arrived at Ralph Brown School. He gave the children a candy cane, a chocolate santa and an orange. He arrived in the morning and he made sure he had enough for all the boys and girls. St.Nicholas was one of the most popular saints honored by the Greek and the Latin churches. He was actually a real person who lived in the 4th century in Myra, Asia Minor, which is presently Demre in Turkey.

Volleyball Team

Congratulations to the people who made the first cut in Volleyball. To the people who didn’t make the Volleyball team, good try. The next practice will start on January 4th. The Volleyball Tournament will be held on February 17, 2000. There will also be another cut made pretty soon. After the tournament there might be a Basketball Clinic at St. Johns High School and the people who made the team will be going if there will be a Basketball Clinic The people who made the first cut are:
