Ralph Brown is an exciting, lively building where students and their families enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere for learning.  A wide range of programming is offered at Ralph Brown.  The English program begins at the nursery level through to grade six, while the Ukrainian English Bilingual Program begins at the Kindergarten through to grade eight. Children who register for the Ukrainian Bilingual Program may enter at the Kindergarten or grade 1 level.  Parents/Guardians and families do not need to speak Ukrainian or have Ukrainian heritage.  The program offers rich cultural experiences with a focus on language development in the early years. Our basic French program begins at the grade 4 level and is provided for students in both the English and Ukrainian Programs.

Students who require special services either through Special Education or the Child Guidance Clinic can access those supports at Ralph Brown.  An Integrated Special Education Program exists for those students who qualify.  Referrals to specialized programs are also possible.  The Child Guidance Clinic offers families support in a number of ways.  School Social Workers, Psychologists, Speech and Language Pathologists and Reading Clinicians have supported the school for a number of years and make a huge impact on student learning.

We are proud of our Aboriginal Education Program.  A priority for a number of years has been to integrate Aboriginal Perspective into our daily routines.  We are guided by the teachings of the medicine wheel and have integrated aboriginal perspective into many curricular areas.  The importance we place on Aboriginal Education is evident when people enter the building and see our Seven Teachings Banners proudly displayed in the front entrance.  We attempt to offer Cree Language classes yearly and have had the opportunity to provide beading classes and a drumming program.

We invite our community into the school and hope that everyone has a chance to visit Ralph Brown School.  Our Parent Council supports the learning that happens at school and we appreciate their support.  They are always looking for extra help.  Please join us at the regularly scheduled meetings.

I am proud to work with an outstanding teaching and support staff and even more honoured to have the opportunity to work with the children who attend our great school.
