The Garden subcommittee of the Queenston School Advisory Council (QSAC) is currently fundraising for a beautiful 75th Anniversary Garden and Outdoor Classroom.

MISSION

The Queenston School Advisory Council (QSAC) is a vehicle for parents and teachers to add to the quality of education provided to the children.

All the parents and teachers are members and are warmly encouraged to get involved in QSAC activities. A working committee is elected each year to co-ordinate the work of QSAC. The committee meets monthly and welcomes the full participation of all parents and staff.

ACTIVITIES

  • Special Events (Family BBQ and Carnival)
  • Pizza Lunch Days
  • School Board Policy review
  • South End Review response
  • School-based decision making
  • Lunch Program

LUNCH PROGRAM

The Parent Council operates a lunch program in the school primarily for children where both parents work or where distance does not allow them to eat lunch at home. Registration Forms and a guide to the program can be obtained in the school office.

VOLUNTEERS

Parents and community volunteers play a very active role at Queenston and are welcome on both an occasional and a regular basis. Volunteers are needed in classrooms, in the library, on our computers, at special events, on field trips, in enrichment programming, in our Safe Arrival program and in countless other ways. In addition, one parent from each class assumes the role of Room Representative and helps recruit parent volunteers for that classroom's activities and special events.
