We
arrived at Spruce Woods Park at @ 9:30 am where we took a horse driven wagon ride through the "Spirit Sands
Desert" We'll eat our lunch there and then travel to
Neepawa.
We arrived in Neepawa in the afternoon. We went to a sheep
farm. We had a chance to see a newborn lamb with the umbilical
cord still attached to it's belly. We saw a sheep being
sheared. It was cool to hear Arthur imitating the sounds of
the sheep.
We went to Franklin Grain Elevator and we weighed
ourselves. Who do you think weighs more, all the Frontenac
kids together or the David Livingstone kids? How about the
Neepawa kids?
We went to the Fertilizer Plant. We learned that a box that
weighs around 25 kg cost $1,000!!!! Did you see the
bushel of Canola we carried?
We had a chance to feel what it was like to walk a country
mile! We walked on a segment of the Trans Canada Trail.
It was an old railway track with some cool tressels and spikes.
Mr. Parrott took us to his farm where we had the chance to see a
non-electrical pump called the "Ram." We also had a
great time in the barn built in 1904.
Off to Minnedosa where we saw some bison!!! Then we went to
see the Heritage Village. We had a chance to see a one room
school, a small church, and the old Winnipeg Hydro Museum.
Off to Neepawa! We had a great supper supplied by the UCT
(United Commercial Travelers) What a great group of people.
We performed in the park.
After a long day, we jumped into our sleeping bags and the boys
slept in
the gym and the girls in the music room, then BREAKFAST!
