Dear parents/guardians;

Staff and students are looking forward to having all parents and guardians come to the school for our first Student-Led Conferences of the 2009-2010 school year.  Report cards will be sent home on November 24^th.  At this time you will receive the time scheduled for your conference.   Please let the classroom teacher know if you are unable to make your appointment and they will make another appointment for you.  We are partners in your child’s learning and value your support. 

At Student-Led Conferences teachers will share the results of the CAP assessment and the
programming plan or “next steps” that have been put in place for your child.  Please read over your child’s report card together and come to Norquay School to help celebrate your child’s learning!

We are also inviting parents to participate in our Parent Council Meetings.  The next Parent Council meeting will be held on November 25.  At this time elections will be held for those who are interested.  Please contact the school if you would like to be on the Parent Council Executive for this school year.

Dates to note in November include:

Closures – There is no school on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 3.  All staff are
attending an Inservice and the monthly staff meeting.  School is closed on Wednesday, November 11^th for Remembrance Day.  There will be no regular classes on the afternoon of November 26^th due to Student-Led Conferences.

Picture Re-takes – Re-takes for those students who were absent on Picture Day will be
November 12 in the morning only.  If you are unhappy with your child’s photo please make sure that their proofs are here for the photographer to see.  If your child is in afternoon nursery or
kindergarten and needs a retake, please make arrangements to bring your child in the morning.

Remembrance Day Ceremony – A Remembrance Day Ceremony will by held in the gym at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10^th.  Parents are most welcome to attend.  Room 20 will be leading this occasion.

Parent Council – This month’s meeting will be Wednesday, November 25^th at 4:30 p.m. 
Childcare provided.

Report Cards – Report cards including C.A.P. templates will be sent home Tuesday, November 24^th.

Pizza Day – November 25^th is Pizza Day this month.  The forms will go out November 16 and the deadline for orders is Monday, November 23.

Assembly – Our regular assembly will be held in the gym on Thursday, November 26^th at 9:30 a.m.  Patrols and Leadership Team will be presenting.

Student-Led Conferences – These important conferences will be held on the afternoon and evening of Thursday, November 26^th.

Please note that Grade 4 Hep-B and Grade 6 HPV Immunizations originally scheduled for
November 5 p.m. have been re-scheduled to January.
