Learning Together Conference and is by no means complete. But it
does share some of our favorite websites for children’s software and
on-line activities. |

Freeware: free for use and distribution.
Shareware: a minimal cost is usually associated with these products.
Demoware: a product that may be evaluated for a limited period of
time (i.e. 30 days) and then it will no longer work. |

Software is categorized according to age levels and subject type. Each
program has a brief description and includes the software requirements
(i.e. Windows 95, Image Viewer, etc.). This site also includes on-line
activities for children and links to other sites. |

This site contains a wealth of resources for both children and adults.
There are on-line activities, links to other sites, and more. As with
the kidsdomain.com site, software is categorized by age levels and
subject type. Each program includes a description and date of release.
The programs are also rated from one cow being the lowest to five cows
being the highest rating. |

The Owl & Mouse Educational Software contains a limited number of
freeware resources but they are worth a look. Two programs designed for
young children, Letter Sounds and Learn Letters are available. Then
there are several Social Studies programs available for the older
children. The site also contains links to other educational web sites. |

This site is unique in that the software is free to educators but other
consumers must pay a minimal fee. The site includes several pieces of
software. Two favorites are Brain Builder Math and License Plate Math. |

Mark Overmars is the author of the programs on this site. Two favorites
in The Winnipeg School Division are Drawing for Children (a complete
Drawing package for young children) and Tangram (a well known Chinese
puzzle activity). This is also the site where Child Proof (a basic
desktop locking program) may be downloaded. |

young children. The program includes math activities, letter
recognition, memory activities and more. |
