Why Reading Is Important! Reading is important to me because it comforts me when I'm sad or when I'm mad. When I'm reading an exciting book there's so many expressive words to pick out and study. Reading is also important to me because it helps me with other things like my spelling. Even when you speak you think of those words in the books. They catch on and your speech becomes more interesting. I also like to read because it helped me to learn English.
