| Lord Selkirk School has a long and colourful history being one of the
first schools to serve the Elmwood area. The first school was built in 1908 and
because of a growing population, a second building was built in 1912. In 1974,
because of changing educational needs, Lord Selkirk No. 1 and No. 2 were torn
down to make way for the present structure.
