1. School Day - Hours
A.M. 8:50 - 11:30 a.m. - Nursery, Kindergarten
A.M. 8:50 - 11:55 a.m. - Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
P.M. 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. - Nursery to Grade 6
2. Arrival at School
It is important that children do not arrive earlier than 10 minutes before
school opening in the morning and after lunch. The playground is
unsupervised prior to this time and the danger of student injury or problems is
always present. Please help us with this problem by seeing that students do not
leave home earlier than necessary.
When the bell rings, students are not to use the parking lot doors. To avoid a
potentially dangerous situation, please do not drop off or pick up students
in the parking lot.
3. Call Back Program
At Lord Selkirk School, we have a call back program. If your child is
absent for any reason, we would appreciate a phone call form you after 8:30 a.m.If
you have not called, the school will contact you. this is for your child's
protection! It has happened in some areas where the child has set out for school
and not arrived and the parent thinks the child is at school. To catch it
quickly, please make sure the school has your current phone number and business
phone number.
4. Permission to Leave School Grounds
Children are not permitted to leave the school grounds during school hours
unless ther is a written request or phone call from parents. This includes the
noon hour for those who are in the lunch program.
5. Dismissal
When children are dismissed at the end of the day we remind them that they
must go straight hme or to their sitters. Before going to a friend's place they
should first get your permission. This should be done before they leave
for school. We strongly recommend you obtain the phone number(s) and
address(es) of your child's friends.
Note: Parents picking up children early - i.e. for appointments shall
report to the office.
