Students work in partners using the Connectix QuickCam camera to
capture images of each other.

Details:
Gather students together as a group on the floor. Show them the
Connectix QuickCam camera attached to the LPT port of the
computer. Demonstrate to the students hwo to open the desired
application. Write out the script outlining these steps on chart
paper to enable students to refer back to . For example,
1. Click Start
2. Point to Programs
3. Point to Accessories
4. Click Connectix QuickCam
Next demonstrate the various menus/tools required to take a
snapshot. Ask the students to work in pairs. Sit one student in
front of the camera while the other one snaps his/her photo.
Again, write these steps on chart paper to allow students to
refer back to. For example,
1. Look into the camera and smile
2. Click File
3. Click Take a Picture
4. Click Save the Image
5. Enter a file name
6. Click Save

When the whole class has had their pictures taken, open
the various images in a view program such as LView Pro. Select an
area to be copied. Click Edit...Copy. Ask students to open a word
processing document. Click Edit...Paste. Move the image to the
desired location. Create an autobiography.
