Details:

This activity is contained on one Paint file, “Treasure”.   For use on a network, this file should be installed in a shared, read only directory on the server (WSD#1 uses S:\2Student).  If you wish to download this file, click on this link treasure.bmp.

After launching Paint and opening the file, click on the select tool from the tool bar.
Follow the directions on the right side of the screen.  Select the underlined word and place it in its correct location on the grid.  Select only the underlined word.   You will notice that some of the words are too big to fit in the square. e.g. No.7. lookout post.  Select“lookout” and drag it to its correct location.   Now select “post” and place it under the word “lookout”.

You may choose to drag the word to the grid, or use “edit, copy, edit paste” to copy the word to its location and keep the directions untouched. Another option would be to have the students draw a picture of the “location” on the grid rather than moving the word.
