Details:
Students will use the graphic illustrator in KidWorks 2 to design simple graphs.
Students will prepare the data ahead of time i.e. hair colour, boys, girls, adults, etc.

Using KidWorks 2, have the children open the Story Illustrator. The children will use the ABC typewriter tool to enter the categories and use the stamp pads to enter symbols for their data. The box tool can be used to frame or enclose the graphs. Simple bar graphs can also be designed using the box tool and fill colour tool. This is a great exercise for sequential thinking and for providing pictorial representation of numerical concepts.

Extensions: (Literature Links, Further Explorations, etc.)
This activity may be used across the curriculum when the graphing of data will assist in student record keeping an ddata gathering, or sorting.
