This activity is contained on one Paintbrush file, "eqleaf1". Click on eqleaf1 to download this file. The user may then save the file to a location of their choice. For use on a network, this file should be located in a shared, read only directory on the computer lab server.

After launching Paintbrush and opening the file, children can then be directed to place a number of each bug on the four leaves. Using the Pick tool as well as Copy and Paste, children can select and deposit the bugs on each leaf.  After the bugs have been distributed, children can then use the text tool to write the equation represented by each leaf full of bugs.  Don't forget to accept zero as an addend.
