Description:
Create a file similar to the one below. Each square is one unit. The purpose of the
activity is to measure the area and perimeter. Demonstrate how to select, copy, paste and
move objects.

Details:
1. Click on one of the cutting tools to select a bear.
2. Click Edit
Click Copy.
3. Move the bear onto a unit.
4. Click Edit
Click Paste.
5. Move the bear onto a unit.
6. Copy and paste the bears and place them onto all the units.
7. Next, select each unit.
8. Drag the unit to the free space on the right.
9. Create a sculpture with all the units ensuring that all sides are connected.
10. Measure the perimeter.

Extensions:
Adapt the activity by:
1. Challenging students to create a sculpture where the sides of each unit must
not contain the same bear.
2. Use other objects instead of bears. For example, different types of
penguins, food products, etc.
3. Specify that the sculpture must have an area of 24 and a perimeter of 18, or
an area of 20 and a perimeter or 20.
