Description
The goal of this activity is to introduce middle years students to the concept of creating
a graph using the computer as a tool. The outcome of this tutorial is the creation
of a spreadsheet to generate a double bar graph showing the mean June high and
low temperatures for six Canadian locations. The attached file contains all the
(step by step) directions necessary to complete the activity.

This activity is contained in one Microsoft Works 3.0 file, DBAR2.WPS. For use on a network, this file should installed in a shared, read only directory on the server (Winnipeg School Division uses S:\2Student). If you wish to download this file, please click on this link dbar2.wps.
After launching Microsoft Works and opening the file, THE
TEACHER should print a copy of the file. A paper copy of the steps should then be
distributed to each workstation. Students are then directed to complete each step in
order. After completing the
69 steps, each student will have printed a double bar graph. It should be noted that
printing the double bar graph is not necessary.
