Details

This activity is filed in one Paint file, "walldoor.bmp", and should be filed in a shared, read-only directory on the server, such as WSD's S:\2Student\. If you wish to download this file, click on this link walldoor.bmp.

After launching Paint and opening the file, the teacher should review how to select a pattern block(s) with a selection tool and how to copy and paste that selection.  Have the students read the problem and re-state it in their own words.  Students should
make a prediction for how many pattern blocks will be needed to solve the problem.  If possible, they should complete the table.

Using Paint's tools along with copy/paste, drag/drop, the students should "build" the wall to confirm their prediction or to help them solve the problem.
