Aboriginal Art Feather/Pipe

(Originally from the Inner City Technology Goals Document – June 1997)

Description:
The eagle feather is a sign of strength and the pipe is a peace symbol in aboriginal tradition. It is important to know that one cannot kill an eagle to gain a feather, but one must receive it as a gift. Most people find eagle feathers in the wild in areas where eagles live. It is against the law and against aboriginal tradition to sacrifice the life of an eagle for a mere symbolic object.

Details:

To make a feather/peacepipe picture where one is crossed over the other, use Paintbrush. Use the shape tools (rounded-corner box) to create the feather and the peace pipe. Edit your creation by colouring, etc. Use the spray paint (gray) to create the downy effect at bottom of feather. Use the cutting tool (scissors) to wrap the object and go to Pick and select tilt or skew;(choose the angle that you want). Using the cutting tool again, wrap object, carry over to criss-cross the other.
