Every year our school celebrates Festival du Voyageur. Students visit both outdoor and indoor stations, learning and appreciating voyageurs history while having a very enjoyable time. Here are some pictures from last years' festivities.
We are very fortunate at LaVérendrye School to have two teachers and one of our parents who are members of a rock band, affectionately know as Group Therapy! The Festival station, Les Chants, last year, was hosted by these two teachers, but to kick off the Festival, the entire group performed a school concert. They also performed at Ecole Landsdowne and during the actual St. Boniface Festival, they played at the Centre St. Louis.
Their Voyageur music includes some original songs which highlight the life of the voyageur. The students are able to better understand the history of the voyageur as well as the French Canadian culture through their music.
